Franklin Square is a mixed-use development that offers 37 apartments across two buildings designed for both individuals and families.

The development involved the acquisition of three private properties in addition to several city lots to complete the property assembly.

Building One is located at the northeast corner of Center and 15th Streets. This elevator-accessible building has four stories and features a community room for events. Residents benefit from a large exercise room, storage lockers, and secure first-floor parking.

The Maures Development Group was formerly within this building until it moved to 1944 N Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in 2025.

Building Two is situated at the southwest corner of Hadley Street and Teutonia Avenue and accommodates six townhomes along with three traditional apartments. Amenities in the units include balconies, indoor parking or garages, a washer/dryer, stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and central air conditioning. There are several units designed to be handicap accessible.

The expansive campus, created in collaboration with Teutonia Gardens, boasts unique features such as outdoor murals, connecting sidewalks, beautiful landscaping, permeable pavers, and energy-efficient lighting.

Franklin Square is named in honor of Franklin Square Park, a site recognized by historians for its role in fostering community through athletics. The park has served as a recreational space for many, including Howard Fuller, a former Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent, and has been the birthplace of NBA players like Fred “Downtown Freddie” Brown and John Howard Getty “J.J.” Johnson, who both played for the Seattle SuperSonics.
